Director of IT  Bliss Score (out of 5): 3.05  Average Salary: $115,643  Required Education: Bachelorâs Degree in Computer Science or Related Major  A director of IT is the go-to person for managing information technology. The hardware and software of a companyâs technology is vital to their success, so keeping it under control is an important job.  To become a director of IT, youâll need the proper education. Most companies are looking for someone with a degree. A bachelorâs is usually required, while a masterâs is preferred.  Certifications in IT programs will also give you the edge you need against competitive applicants. For example, the Computing Technology Industry Association (Comp TIA) is a program where you can get professionally certified for various skill levels of IT knowledge.  9.
